‘Comedy at the Crib’

‘Comedy at the Crib’ was my first time as a UPM for a live show taping. Comedy at the Crib is an intimate comedy showcase featuring a mix of recognized talent and fresh, up-and-coming comedians in the comedy arena. The show was hosted, written, and produced by renowned comedian LaVar Walker, known for his appearances on:

    •    NBC’s Last Comic Standing
    •    BET’s Comic View
    •    Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam
    •    The movie Uncle Drew
    •    Netflix’s Sneakerheads
    •    Hulu’s Life & Beth

My first time production-managing a live-show taping, but one of many times that I’ve partnered with The Oakland Film Company.

I was primarily responsible for

• Production contracts and facilitation of payment to locations, vendors, catering, talent and crew

• Hiring/recruitment of vendors, talent, audience and crew

• Staggered scheduling of talent & filming schedule

• All communication between producers and talent/crew

• Calling time while filming, last minute changes and shooting adjustments while filming

• Craft services

Comedy at the Crib is currently in post-production, and the team is in talks with Amazon and Netflix regarding distribution deals! Keep an eye out for it in 2026!
